Superman II (1980) - A Miniature ‘Ursa’ Face Maquette (SOLD)
Regular priceSale price
This is a Miniature face maquette of Supervillan Ursa’s (Sarah Douglas) face used in the production of Director Richard Lester’s Superhero Film. The 2.36x1.97” plaster sculpt was created by legendary make-up & creature effects Artist Stuart Freeborn for use on the 12” flying dummies. These dummies varied in size depending on the scale dictated by blue screen compositing & front projection. The maquette includes blue ink lines beneath the chin & behind the left ear; which are believed to have aided paintwork. The tip of the nose has been damaged at some stage during its storage, but otherwise remains in fine condition; with the remaining facial features still recognisable & intact. The maquette comes beautifully mounted & protected inside a framed display (18x22”) with a corresponding still signed & inscribed ‘What sort of a Creature are you?’ by Actress Sarah Douglas who played Ursa in the Film. Provenance: Obtained from the collection of Stuart Freeborn in 2003. The Autograph was obtained directly from Sarah Douglas. This item is now sold.
