Jaws (1975) - A Framed ‘Amity Police’ Uniform Patch
This triangular cotton costume patch, bearing ‘Amity Police’ embroidered centrally, & exhibiting signs of minor wear, was used in Director Steven Spielberg’s iconic film ‘Jaws’ (1975). The patch would have been attached to the upper sleeve of the Amity Police uniforms; a fictional department lead by Chief of Police Martin Brody (played by Roy Scheider). They can be seen throughout the film, most notably when Police witness a juvenile prank on the Fourth of July weekend. The patch comes beautifully framed in a glazed display with four corresponding photographs & a Marketing still autographed by Susan Backlinie who portrayed ‘Chrissie’, the first Shark Victim in the Film. Originally acquired from a member of the production crew, this piece accompanies a Certificate of Authenticity from reputable Vendors & Archivists ‘Screenused’. The autograph was obtained in-person at the Collectormania event, NEC Birmingham, on Saturday 2nd June 2018 where Susan made an appearance. A rare artefact from one of the truly great & lasting classics of American Cinema. The display measures 22x22 inches. Please note: The glazing has been removed only for the purpose of this listing.
