This is a prop fish carnival hat used in Director Jim Gillespie's Hit American slasher Movie 'I know what you did Last Summer' (1997). The light turquoise hat is made of foam with painted detailing & an elasticated strap. These hats can be seen being worn by extras in the crowds when Helen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) rides in the 4th July Parade as the reigning Croaker Queen. The hat comes mounted on a custom display base incorporating an acrylic display head & a corresponding descriptive plaque. There is some minor wear to the foam & some scuff marks on the tail from use on set but the piece remains in overall fine condition. Many of these hats were originally given to the film's cinematographer as souvenirs; by Production Designer Gary Wissner. This one was acquired through reputable Vendors & Archivists ‘Icons of Pop Culture’ & in addition to our own Certificate of Authenticity, includes documentation from this Company.
