A prop Casino Chip stack used in Director Baz Luhrmann’s biographical drama Film starring Austin Butler. The stack (13.5x4cm) is a single piece with a wooden centre, to give the illusion of a stack of separate chips. Props of this kind were used as set dressing throughout scenes at ‘The International’ Hotel & Casino. In 1969, Elvis kicked off a seven-year-long residency at the International Hotel, which was later known as the Las Vegas Hilton. This era of his life is depicted in the 2022 movie where his relationship with ‘The Colonel’ (Tom Hanks) becomes profoundly turbulent. The prop accompanies two 8x6” colour stills. Provenance: Originally obtained from the Studio Asset Sale held shortly after the film was released.
