This is a fragment of destroyed ‘MK1’ (Mark 1) Suit used in the 2008 Marvel Superhero Film Directed by Jon Favreau. The MK1 was the first Iron Man Suit built & devised by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr). The resin-made fragment measures 1x1cm & includes painted metallic detailing to imitate metal. Fragments of this kind can be seen splayed across the sand in the scenes when Stark flees captivity using the MK1 & crashes it in the desert. These scenes were filmed at the Olancha Sand Dunes in California where Production Crew endured filming in 50-60 mph winds. The fragment comes mounted in a framed display measuring approximately 12x14 inches with two corresponding stills & a descriptive plaque. Accompanies Provenance, having been originally obtained by a member of the Film’s Production Crew.
