My Bloody Valentine 3D (2009) - Prosthetic SFX Chest Appliance
This gruesome open chest cavity appliance was used in Director Patrick Lussier’s American Slasher Film. Intricately created using a combination of foam rubber, resin & latex, the appliance realistically depicts a deep open wound with the protrusion of broken ribs, muscle tissue & torn flesh. An elasticated short-sleeved shirt is attached to the base of the appliance allowing it to be worn by Actors. Appliances such as this would have been strapped to Actors bodies in the opening scenes of the Film, when Sheriff Burke (Tom Atkins) discovers the victims of a hospital killing spree pioneered by Axe-wielding Miner & Maniac Harry Warden. The appliance remains in excellent production used condition with minor wear. This piece was retained after filming & accompanies full provenance. Measuring approximately 18x13x3 inches overall.
