The ensemble comprises a vintage Rona New York woollen jacket in an elegant camel-coloured design, with a matching sleeveless high-necked dress bearing gold embellishments over a striking camel-coloured bodice. Both costume pieces bear the ‘Palace Costume Company’ labels to their interiors. The outfit was worn by Whitney Houston in the bible study scenes of the film; when Emma Anderson (Whitney Houston) jests about dancing provocatively. The costume can also be seen in the Film’s international trailer released by Sony Pictures. In the 2012 Film, Whitney plays one of the Anderson Sisters who are approached by an aspiring record label executive to form a musical group. Sadly, ‘Sparkle’ was the last film that Whitney Houston performed in before her untimely death in February 2012.
